Baska hiking

There are some great hiking routes from Baska, suitable for all ability levels. The tourist office on the main road into the town centre will be able to provide walking maps free of charge, our you can download one from their website at http://www.tz-baska.hr/lang-en/mape. On the map, each route is colour coded and these colour codes match the way markings on rocks, signposts, etc. My favourite route is from Baska beach front up to the highest point on Krk Island, Obzova (568m), and then down to Draga Bascanka, about 16km. On route you get great views of the Croatian mainland and other islands, as well as Krk Island itself. The limestone plateau upon which Obzova stands is stunning. When you do the real walk, take plenty of water and wear sturdy footwear as the rocky terrain is tough going.
